Company History

Allied Waste Management was established as a sole trading company by Mr. Garry O’Neill in 1992. The companies operations were based in Oldcastle in County Meath and Allied Waste Management commenced collections with just one Rear End Loader and One Skip Truck, collecting wheeled bins and skips in the western area of County Meath.

As the companies operations began to expand over the following years Roll On/Off Skip trucks were added to the fleet as well as specialised Refuse Collection Vehicles for the collection of Wheeled Bins. Collections were expanded to include new areas such as Drogheda Town, Leixlip and Dublin.

From 2000 onwards landfills began to close and become more restrictive on the types of wastes that they could accept. This reduced the quantity of waste that could be disposed of to landfill resulting in a change to Allied Waste Management’s collection method. Separate collections were introduced for the collection of recyclable materials such as glass, cardboard, plastic, timber and metal, and customers were provided with extra skip and wheeled bin containers as well as balers and compactors for the management of these waste streams.

In June 2007 Allied Waste Management opened its first Materials Recovery Facility in Clonmellon in County Westmeath and all of the companies operations are now officially based from the site since October of 2007.
